I enjoyed my three-night stay, especially the beautiful views and friendly staff. The pools are a highlight, but I found the fitness center could use more equipment. While breakfast was decent, it wasn't included for my stay, which was a letdown. Overall, the hotel has a lot to offer but could benefit from some upgrades.

The room was clean and had comfortable bedding, though it was a bit typical for a resort of this caliber. I felt it could use some updates.

The location is visually stunning, with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. I enjoyed exploring the hotel grounds amidst the volcanic rock formations.

My stay at the Phoenix Marriott Resort was enjoyable overall, thanks to the beautiful location and friendly staff (who were incredibly attentive!). However, I did notice that parts of the hotel, like the rooms, felt a bit dated and could use some updates.

Rooms

My room was spacious and clean, but it did show some signs of aging. It was also a bit noisy due to the old HVAC system and proximity to the highway, which made it tough to fully relax at times.

The staff were a highlight of my visit. They were exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. Their warm welcome during check-in set a positive tone for my stay.
Location

The resort's unique setting among the volcanic rocks offered stunning views and a serene atmosphere. It was conveniently located near both downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale, which made exploring easy.
Dining
6.0
I did not dine extensively at the on-site restaurants, but I did notice they had a nice setting. The breakfast I had was good, though I felt it was a bit pricey for what I received.
Facilities

While the outdoor spaces were pleasant, I found the pool area to be a major highlight (even if it was crowded with kids!). However, the lack of an indoor pool was a downside if you prefer swimming in cooler weather.

The Phoenix Marriott Resort at the Buttes offered a beautiful location with stunning views. but my overall experience had its ups and downs. The check-in was welcoming, and the staff was friendly, though I encountered issues with housekeeping and room cleanliness that were disappointing. Dining options, while promising in quality, were also at times inconsistent, and the pool area left something to be desired in terms of cleanliness.

Rooms

I initially faced a disappointing situation with my first room being dirty upon arrival. but the second room I received was clean and well-appointed. However, I was surprised to learn that housekeeping only comes every third day.
Service

I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating during my stay, especially at check-in and the pool bar. but I faced delays and a lack of helpfulness when issues arose with my room.
Location

The resort's setting was absolutely gorgeous, surrounded by volcanic rocks and offering beautiful views. it felt away from the city, yet I was only about 10 minutes from the airport.

Dining at the Buttes Restaurant was a mixed experience. While the food was enjoyable, it came with a hefty price tag. and I found the service to be lacking on a couple of occasions.

The pool area was functional but dated, and I noticed cleanliness issues during my stay, which was disappointing. though the pool bartender was friendly and provided some good local tips.

My stay at Phoenix Marriott Resort Tempe At The Buttes had its highs and lows. The beautiful grounds and lovely views were a standout, but the outdated rooms and some cleanliness issues were disappointing. Overall, while I appreciated the friendly staff and decent dining options, the hotel is in need of a serious update.

Rooms

The room was clean and spacious, but very outdated with peeling wallpaper and a bland aesthetic. The shower had a sewer smell and didn't drain well, which was a major downside for me.
